Yoga Teacher Training Course
May 16th to June 19th, 2011
Want to advance your practice or become a yoga teacher? Then take a journey and an adventure to Bali with Alicia Cheung, May 16 to June 19, 2011!
Tosa Yoga is proud to partner with the world-renowned YogaWorks, California, for this incredible 5-week, Yoga-Alliance registered 200 hour program. Whether you are currently teaching, aspiring to teach, or are a serious student wishing to take your practice to another level, this program will deepen your understanding of yoga while opening your hidden potential and inner wisdom.
The YogaWorks method is a blend of Ashtanga, Iyengar and the teachings of Desikachar – coupled with a unique approach to sequencing that is specifically designed to meet the needs of the average yoga student. From Ashtanga the method incorporates heat and flow, from Iyengar precise detailed instructions, and from the teachings of Desikachar, posture modifications — that is, the idea that the practice should fit the practitioner.
Our program consists of several hours of lecture covering in-depth study of asana, anatomy, physiology, philosophy, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, as well as the fundamentals of teaching, sequencing poses, and designing classes for different levels and specific needs. Specialty lectures such as prenatal, subtle body, pranayama, and meditation will also be included.
Our 5 week intensive training will be set in two locations, Ubud and Pantai Jasri. Ubud is the spiritual center of the island with stunning rice paddy views, beautiful temples, powerful convergences of famous rivers, and gamelan music often heard in the distance. You will have the opportunity to enjoy spiritual ceremonies, visit healers, hike, see waterfalls and temples, and enjoy a plethora of local Balinese and international cuisine.
Then, we will venture to the eastern, seaside coast of Pantai Jasri to the sacred area of Shanti Agung Temple. Nestled in a small fishing village with stunning views of Mount Agung, Shanti Agung will be our home for the last two weeks of the training. Here we will enjoy the quiet simplicity of sunrise walks along the beach, a genuine, heart felt village experience, and some of the world’s best snorkeling just 20 minutes away! Our residential format offers participants the opportunity to leave the chaos at home and immerse in a more yogic lifestyle: eating and living communally, delving deeper into meditation and asana, quiet time to relax and reflect — all within the beautiful surroundings of Bali.
